John T. Pavone is Founder and Principal of Thomas Equities. From 1975 through 2006, Mr. Pavone was a senior executive at Jack Resnick and Sons, Inc., a prominent Manhattan real estate investment and development company that has spanned over three generations. At Resnick, he was responsible for the leasing and management of the majority of Resnick’s 5 million sq. ft. commercial portfolio. During his tenure at the Resnick organization, Mr. Pavone played a substantial role in the re-development of Downtown Manhattan in the early 1980’s, primarily with the development, management and leasing of 199 Water Street and 255 Greenwich Street (75 Park Place). Even today, these two assets are the showcase of the firm’s developed commercial properties. He was also involved in all major commercial investments and developments for the firm and was a trusted adviser to the Resnick family for over three decades.
Mr. Pavone graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He is a senior member of the Young Mens/Womens Real Estate Association of New York. The Real Estate Board of New York were he served on the Lower Manhattan, Grand Central and Plaza District Rental Conditions Committees. He is also active in numerous industry groups and charitable organizations.

Formally a Senior Managing Director at Colliers International’s New York City office where he focused on tenant representation and landlord agency leasing, primarily in Midtown Manhattan. John worked on a team directly reporting to the President of the Tri-State Region of Colliers International’s NYC office; combined the team has over 90 years of experience within the NYC office market and its respective cycles. He has been involved in over 8.0 million square feet of sale and lease transactions. While primarily focused on the Manhattan market, he has advised numerous corporate tenants with multi-market transactions and strategic management of their office portfolios, including mark-to-market analysis. He has advised entrepreneurial landlords as well as as institutional ones, such as CalStrs with the successful leasing and marketing for their NYC based assets.
In his role with Thomas Equities, he serves as Principal, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer for the firm.
He is also actively involved in the NYC real estate community as a member of the Real Estate Board of New York, CoreNet Global’s NYC Chapter and the Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate Association of New York where he served on its Board of Governors for three terms. He also served as the Journal Chair for “A Special Night for Children” benefitting the AHRC New York City Foundation.
Mr. Pavone has a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University in Maryland and a Master of Business Administration from the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University. Mr. Pavone is also a member of the Alpha Sgima Nu, Phi Kappa Phi and Betta Gamma Sigma honor societies.
